Hello Thunderbird Family,
There is an urgent need to bring awareness to our students and the community that kids all around the world are living without the basic essentials such as food, water, shelter, and clothing. We are stepping up to the plate and joining the mission to help lift kids out of poverty. A homeroom fundraiser competition will begin on May 5th and conclude on May 25th, and the homeroom that collects the most funds will win a pizza party. Envelopes will be placed in your mail boxes along with a collection sheet that will be collected before the end of the school day by Ms. Caldwell or Mr. Jean. Below you will find the link for a short video that you can show your students and it is critical that meaningful conversations take place on how we can make a difference!

In addition, the official Red Nose Day is May 26th and it would be great if all staff members can wear a red nose or a red shirt (the Nose can be purchased at Walgreens). Moreover, the fundraiser will conclude on May 26th with the students being able to “Drop the Collar for a Dollar” and wear a red shirt in lieu of their uniform shirt with school pants. An account has been created under the name “Thunderbird Knows” on the Red Nose website and you can check to see how much money has been raised by our school and around the world (https://www.crowdrise.com/RedNoseDaySchool). Let’s have fun Thunderbird family while lending a helping hand!
